Hi, 
heute mal wieder ein kleines Update in Deutsch und Englisch, gestern war ich zum ersten Mal an der Uni fuer ne Vorlesung, war mal wieder sehr geil, setz mich einfach in den Raum neben ein paar Leute, am Ende sind die auch Deutsche, und sogar von der gleichen Uni wie ich, WISO in Nuernberg...echt krass wieviele deutsche hier unterwegs sind, nach den Asiaten und Australiern auf jeden Fall die groesste Gruppe...

naja, mein Prof hat uns dann gleich mal klargemacht was er von uns BWLern erwartet (" You want to be a good person? Go to the Red Cross! You wanna be loved? Buy a dog! We are here to earn money!!!"), die Semesterarbeit sollen wir am besten schon heute anfangen weil er grundsaetzlich keine guten Noten vergibt...also das war schonmal so ein bisschen ein Schock am Anfang...
danach dann hab ich mich mit nem Kumpel getroffen und wir sind mal ueber den Park auf dem Campus gegangen, da gab's wieder Free BBQ und saemtliche Klubs haben sich vorgestellt, wie man das halt so kennt aus den ganzen Highschoolfilme, der Debattierklub, Dark Knight Klub (so ein Internet Rollenspiel, alle hatten mittelalterliche Kostueme an..sehr freaky...) und noch 1000 mehr..ich bin dann letztendlich nur zu den Sport klubs, hab mich im Gym eingeschrieben (sehr geil, schwimmbad, squash, basketball, fitnessstudio, alles dabei, auf dem unigelaende) und wollte dann noch ein bisschen Fussballspielen, es gibt hier so ein paar Plaetze wo man abends spielen kann, am ende haben die gemerkt dass ich Deutscher bin, offenbar gehen die davon aus dass wir alle fussballspielen koennen, und jetzt bin ich zusammen mit ca 90 anderen leuten zu nem Try out am Samstag mittag eingeladen, wo die dann leute fuer die 3 uni mannschaften suchen..werd da mal hingehen, vielleicht langts ja...obwohl ich seit ich hier bin keinen sport mehr gemacht hab....;-)

gut, was gibts noch neues, heute abend werd ich meine wohnung fix machen, einkaufen war ich diese woche auch zum ersten mal richtig (ratet mal was der naechste supermarkt in  meiner Naehe ist...Aldi!!), gestern war ich auch noch bei IKEA um mal zu schauen was ich so alles noch brauche; ach ja, und ich hab rausgefunden dass Nicole Kidman nur 2 Strassen weiter wohnt (also von da wo ich jetzt wohne), bei der ihrem Haus will ich spaeter mal vorbei, mal gucken wie die so wohnt..:-) 

noch was witziges zum schluss, es ist hier offenbar brauch, sich beim Busfahrer zu bedanken...also wann immer man aus dem Bus aussteigt, sagt man Thank You Mate! im Vorbeigehen, sehr geil...die meisten Busfahrer sind dementsprechend auch richtig freundlich und gutgelaunt...sollte man vlt auch mal zuhause ausprobieren!

just a short one today after my first day at class, was kinda new to me to really have this campus life with clubs all around (both sports and normal eg. debate club), but I really enjoyed it, was fun to see all these activities on the huge campground, really nice! First lecture was also quite fun, though my prof seems to be really a tough one who demands you to do really a lot, won't be as easy as expected i think..
when we entered the room, he welcomed us with a little speech, conclusion was: "You want to be a good person? Go to the Red Cross! You wanna be loved? Buy a dog! We are here to earn money!!!"After that, he went on comparing marketing decisions to ones made at war (using WW I, II and Vietnam as examples) how to do -or not to- marketing decisions... kinda weird, but since he runs a Marketing company I suppose he knows what's going on,so let's see where all of it is going..

of course I'm kinda busy now, trying to organise everything both for classes as well as for my new appartement, so the next weeks will be kinda stressy, but then it should be fine and I get finally really accustomized to Sydney..

in the end, 2 short stories, I found that I live just 2 streets next to Nicole Kidman, should check out her palace later this week, and a funny thing about busdrivers here, when you leave the bus you say Thank You Mate to them..really funny, wasn't used to that, but it's no big deal and obviously usual here, so why not..;-)

G'Day Mates and Sheilas,

just returned from my first trip in Oz, we've been to a place called Crescent Head for a surftrip with a private company, was gorgeous! Started Sunday early morning (Dep at Uni was at 9am, so I got up to pack and go there all the way at 5.45am..pretty tough), was a little bit shocked when that guy told us we're going to a 6 hour drive to our destination, well but guess that's just Australia, everything's just bigger than home..;-) after like 1 hour we stopped at a Reptile Park, was really great, made some pics there with Kangaroos and Koalas (Kangaroos were just hopping around in the whole park, whenever you passed by one zou just stopped and fed him/her, sooo cute when they were holding with their hands onto mine and then licked the crops out of my hand...I love them!! Koalas rather suck, I mean they are also really cute, they just do nothing at all...18 hours sleep a day, 6 hours eating...great life..;-) So it wasn't really a Reptile park alone, there were also Dingoes, Birds, Wombats, Wallabies, Tasmanian Devils (Cute!!!) and Flying Foxes, but of course also Alligators (touched a Baby one), Huge Turtles,  a big Salty (deadly crocodiles, the ones that are also called Maneaters, really impressive coz even though you knew there was one in the bassin, you still couldn't see it....just if you really look close..so in nature, no chance!, Snakes (big Python, also the deadly Vaipan) and...Spiders...
there was a whole Spider world, and what thought lil'Max? let's go there, maybe I can cure my Arachnophobia with watching them...and what can I say..in the end I just ran out of this fucking room, all these spiders, albeit behind glass and in boxes, just scare me sooooo much...wolf and huntsmen spider (I hope i got the names right) are just enormously big, all the others deadly...one of them causes like a tumor on your skin if it bites you...oh my god....what will I do when I see them in real life???

anyways, after that we went on towards Brisbane, after 5 more hours in the bus we finally left the Highway and drove through Crescend Head where we had to buy booze for two days, i think we bought in the end 80 cans of beer plus wine (group of 6 of us..) which was hardly enough for 2 days..

then, on "roads" which were rather muddy paths throughout the forest, we went on to the surfcamp, really beautiful in the middle of nowhere...after that, we just had some dinner and went to bed then (after a few drinks at the Humpy, a place at the beach with campfire..lovely!). #1 rule of the camp: Stay cool and have fun!!
 
Next morning, getting up at 7am!!! to go Surfing, the guys there (live at this camp, surfing everyday, last sober day...hmmm...2001?) taught us some security lessons, especially how to handle the ribs and different types of waves, then some theoretical stuff -how to get on the board- and then we went to the beach...a perfect lagune, about 2km long, white sand, and no one else besides us..perfect!!! so the whole day just surfing, was a bit tough to stand (I think i swallowed like 2l of water at least), but also stood for a few times on the board,really cool! so we just chilled the whole day, surfed a little bit or enjoyed the sun (25degrees)...after dinner some party again, all the americans there (all around 19-21) were obviously happy to be allowed to drink, one of them just sat at the fire and drank a bottle of Jack Daniels every nite on his own and got really wasted, well, I wasn't sober too but still in stable condition..;-) next morning then again getting up at 7, some more hours surfing and then heading back home at 12. arrived in sydney at 8pm, and was really tired, all my muscles hurt, those of you who joined the adidas wakeboard trip know what I mean!

so, now my first day at school, some infos and general overview, starting at 11am, so I gotta go, catch up later!

2 more great expressions from that trip:
- Beach is pronounced Baich here..sounds cool
- Good on ya...for "well done", everybody keeps saying that, also great..

Hi an alle, heute mal in deutsch zur Abwechslung, weitere Eindruecke der ersten Tage...heute war ich zum ersten Mal an der Uni, hab mich vorher mit ein paar Leuten getroffen die ich aus dem studivz kenne, die passen alle, an der Uni selbst gab's dann erstmal BBQ auf dem Dach einer Bar (diese Bar ist mitten im Campus, jeden Do Party dort fuer alle, dazu gibt's da richtig leckeres und guenstiges Bier (pint 3 AUS) UND Live sports, also zB kam da heute nachmittag einfach mal Phoenix gegen Dallas live...Hammergeil! Dort werden auch morgens die Champions League Spiele gesendet, hab mich schonmal mit einem der Betreuer kurzgeschlossen dass ich dann da auch mitschauen darf (die Bar macht eigtl erst um 12 Uhr auf, nur die ganzen student counsellors duerfen da eher rein, aber da er Liverpool Fan ist hab ich ihm ein Trikot versprochen, jetzt darf ich auch mitschauen, hoffe nur das gilt dann auch fuer UEFA Cup Spiele ;-). die Frage ist jetzt nur wie ich das in der Uni aushalten soll, ich mein es ist schon in Deutschland langweilig genug mit dem Anreiz einfach heim zu gehen, aber hier....Meer vor der Tuer, Bar mit Bier und Sport TV, dazu noch ein riesiger Skulpturen Park mit See und kleinem Wasserfall in der Mitte zum chillen...hammer! )

naja, danach bin ich dann mit 2 anderen deutschen mal ein bisschen in der Bib online gegangen um nach WOhnungen zu schauen was im Moment wohl ziemlich schwer ist da alle suchen und niemand bei den ganzen Asiaten wohnen will, am Ende haben wir fuer morgen ein paar Termine bekommen, wir hoffen dass wir drei ein Haus mieten koennen und dann noch 2 andere mitbewohner suchen, das ist am ende wohl das guenstigste. Danach sind wir zum Darling Harbour gefahren und haben dort am Meer Fish&Chips gegessen, sehr geil..abendsonne, wasser und lauter Leute um einen herum, sehr gechillt...

jetzt dann geh ich auch gleich wieder pennen, versuch noch ein bisschen meine ganzen Mails zu beantworten und dann ab in die Koje, Jetlag ist noch nicht ganz ausgestanden..;-)
morgen gehts dann erst wohnungen anschauen und dann nachmittags an den Strand von Manly, So frueh dann zum Surfen...hier noch ne kleine Uebersicht von Besonderheiten hier bisher ;-)

-cool: die leute und der dialekt..wunderbar unaufgeregt, damit kommt man echt gut klar, und den dialekt hat man auch schnell raus, wenn sie nur ihre ganzen zusaetzlichen woerter weglassen wuerden die es nur hier gibt..da checkt man nix..aber sonst: bloody lovely
-komisch: linksfahrgebot..nachdem ich am ersten Tag ein paar mal fast ueberfahren worden waere hatte ich's heut eigtl ganz gut raus, aber auf der rolltreppe haben sie mich dann doch erwischt...links stehen, rechts gehen...nicht wie zuhause!
-weit: weg von stadtmitte zur Uni - 1 Stunde..hopplige strassen, nicht sehr angenehm zu fahren, dafuer aber ueber die harbour bridge kostenlos jeden tag!
-massig: Asiaten...ueberall..gefuehlte 80% auf dem Campus...und alle nur gestresst
-nochmal komisch: muenzen, die grossen sind wenig wert, die kleinen dafuer viel...und 2 dollaer muenzen schauen aus wie bei uns 5 cent...
-heiss: das wetter! hab mir schon den ersten Sonnenbrand in gesicht und am hals geholt...

so, der Tag ist gekommen, heute abend gehts los, nachdem ich mich gerade nochmal von Omas & Opas verabschiedet hab (sehr emotional ;-) ) werden die letzten Sachen gepackt...natürlich hab ich viel zu viel Gepäck, mal schauen obs da heut abend dann stress gibt..;-) so langsam muss ich zugeben kommt auch das große Kribbeln, es ist halt doch ein ganzes Jahr..naja, das wird geil!

Auf jeden Fall euch allen eine gute Zeit, haltet mich bitte auch bei allen kleineren und größeren Dingen auf dem Laufenden, freu mich von jedem zu hören! Versuche auch, jede email so schnell wie möglich zu beantworten!

Bilder und Videos sowie Berichte werden kommen, alles gute!

Hey Dudes,
finally the day has come, today Maxi's leaving, just said goodbye to my grandparents which was of course very emotional; now i think i finally realized that i'm really gone for a whole year...anyway, right now packing is my biggest issue, of course I have way too much ( not to mention the box I've already sent to Oz..;-) )

Anyway, I wish all of you a great year, as said before I want you also to come back to me with news, infos and gossip, I'll try to answer each email asap!

Pics and videos will come...
